All Kessef by Eve Lynn jewelry is hand made from original world coins both in and out of circulation and that hand-crafted quality gives each piece in the collection a true uniqueness. The coins are set with various precious stones to bring out that extra little sparkle in us all. The brilliance of the stones against the backdrop of the antiquified luster of the coins speaks to that inner need we have to create a rich history for ourselves, but still maintain a contemporary radiance and style. The combinations of the symbols they are carved into, paired with the life of the coins themselves are meant to lend their wearer a sense of beauty and meaning.

Kessef Yaroke

With “Going Green” as a new theme of our society, we want to say that we are absolutely ecstatic that so many of you out there are thinking more about our planet and your bodies! Environmentalism and Health have been serious concerns for us for many years now. Eco-friendly and organic living are priorities in our lifestyles and we want our business to reflect that; we are proud to offer you an eco-friendly option. So…as you’ve seen in your shopping cart, we’ve offered you the option of Kessef or Kessef Yaroke (yaroke is the Hebrew translation of green). By choosing Kessef Yaroke you are doing your share of recycling! While the Kessef option will use brand spanking sparkling new gold, the Kessef Yaroke option will use vintage chain hand picked by Eve Lynn at antique fairs and flea markets around the world. You should know that there will be inconsistencies in these chains and each chain will vary in length (we will do our best to keep them comparative to the length detailed for that piece), style, and gold content (14k versus 18k). That said, we believe that there is something super special about a piece of jewelry that comes to you with its own history.

Agabhumi

Eve is delighted to be collaborating with her dear friends Michael and Regina (owners of the fabulous boutique Agabhumi: The Best of Bali www.agabhumi.com) on all of her specialty beaded chains, pearl strands, and the such. Michael and Regina opened Agabhumi in Stamford, CT in November 2002 with the interest of introducing us to the exquisite crafts, jewels, and treasures from the exotic island of Bali, Indonesia.

Michael’s heart was already in Bali from the time he visited in 1974 and spent some time with the Oka family. By the time he brought his wife Regina back to explore the island and visit his Balinese family, there was no question that she would also fall in love with the island and they would inevitably find success there!

The name “Agabhumi” means ancient firmament in Balinese and it is meant to represent a reflection of the strength and creativity of the artisans with whom Michael and Regina work with. The ability of the craftspeople to produce unique and exciting designs is truly world renowned.

Michael and Regina are constantly working to bring beauty to our world and always ensure their crafts come with a humanitarian interest. For instance, the freshwater pearls which we buy from them for our Kessef collection come from a women’s co-op in the Philippines and are grown muscles in farms in Hong Kong. Also, last year, Michael designed a small collection called “Donate Life” which he sells in their boutique and on their site which donates 30% of its proceeds to raise awareness for organ donorship.

Since Kessef by Eve Lynn pieces can mean many things to each of us, they should certainly fit our personalities properly! A Kessef by Eve Lynn piece can be a memory to one, a religious, political, or philosophical statement to another, and even simply an everyday favorite necklace to someone else. Following in the same vein as Kessef Yaroke, we’ve designed a small section of our collection as reworked vintage and antique pieces. When scavenging flea markets and antique fairs for chains and the such, Eve often brings home some choice picks as well.
